MERTON HAWKS U12
This is the first, but hopefully not the last news regarding Merton Hawks U12 Basketball team. For all the parents and fans that couldn't get to the games we will be blogging game clips and photos. We will be giving you a match summary supplied by the boys in the game so you get the ' real feel ' , plus I'll be filling in with all the tension from the side line :)
Ok. Sunday 16th January 2011. We were playing Spelthorne Atoms.We started off fairly slow, it was the boys first game of the new year.The shouting from the side line was ' rebound in the air!' It took some time to score, but after about 4 minutes the score was 10-2 to Merton Hawks. Lee (their coach) called them in and took them through a few plays. The boys were inspired. At the end of the first half the score was 25-5 to Merton Hawks.
Not to just coast through the game the boys played their socks off. The shouting got louder with the cheers for each basket. The boys were backing each other up on the court, the rebounds were going in...not that there were many to be had. The end of the 3rd quarter was 46-13 to Merton Hawks.
This was it. The last quarter. The boys played it to the hilt. A few fouls on each side but nothing to get upset about. The shouting still got louder...it was close to the end of the game, and then the final horn sounded. The score 65-20 to Merton Hawks. The boys were amazing and Lee was solid!

Period 3: 8 - 11
Period 4: 5 - 19
Final Score: 20-65 Merton Hawks

Reece Ferreira: #9 with 14 points
Wissam Saad: #15 with 10 points
Jayden Gonzales-Edwards: #8 with 9 points

TJ Roberts: #6 with 2 points
Joshua Idusohan: #12 with 2 points
The training session for Thursday 20th Jan has been cancelled and there will not be a game on Sunday 23rd. The next session for the U12 will be Thursday 27th Jan.
